BURTON HOLDS NKNPSE POINTS LEAD HEADED TO LANGLEY

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (August 31, 2017) – As the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) season winds down, the chase for the 2017 series Championship picks up. In the midst of that intense battle is MDM Motorsports’ own Harrison Burton. With only three events left, the NKNPSE heads to Langley Speedway located in Hampton, Va.

After a solid test at Langley last week, Burton enters the weekend with confidence. The 16-year-old NASCAR NEXT driver has had a breakout season recording four victories, 10 top-five finishes, and 11 top-10 finishes in 11 starts. He currently holds a four-point lead over the second-place contender in the series standings.

“We’ve had an incredible year,” Burton said. “We’ve had a shot to win just about every race we have run this year. I’m looking forward to these last few events as the battle for the championship gets more intense.”

The 0.396-mile Langley Speedway features six degrees of banking in the turns and four degrees on the straightaways. In 1970, it became the site of the last Grand National race before the series was renamed Winston Cup (and now Monster Energy Cup).

“I’m excited to race at Langley Speedway. It’s a true short track, and I know will put on a great show for the fans,” said Burton. “MDM has brought fast race cars to the track all year, and this weekend will be no different. I truly have the hardest working crew in racing.”

The Visit Hampton Virginia 150 is scheduled for Saturday, September 2 at 9 p.m., ET. The event will air on NBCSN on Sept. 7 at 7 p.m., ET
